CALL 4 HEALTH AND THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF CAREGIVING YOUTH TEAM UP TO REACH OUT IN 2007

BOCA RATON, FL (February 25, 2007) – Today, Call 4 Health and the American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) announced a partnership between the two entities that will enhance the communication capacity for this developing non-profit organization..

As one of the Nation’s leading medical and home health care call centers, Call 4 Health has offered it’s call services to AACY to augment its reach to an underserved population: children and adolescents who care for chronically ill or disabled family members.

“This is a very exciting partnership for us, as Call 4 Health acknowledges a real value in what the AACY offers to young people and their families as well as the services its Caregiving Youth Project offers locally,” said Call 4 Health CEO Joseph Pores.

“The more people, both public and professionals, who understand the issues associated with caregiving youth and can direct them to resources, the sooner youth and their families can have help and prevent the negative effects of caregiving. This amazing opportunity allows youth to begin to access support. They need to know they are not alone…that what they are contributing is of significant value, not only to their families but also to society” expresses Connie Siskowski, RN, PhD who is spearheading the youth initiatives.

According to the national research report, Young Caregivers in the U.S.,

there are more than one million children and adolescents who are 18 years of age or younger and who provide significant or substantial assistance, often on a regular basis, to relatives or household members who need help because of physical or mental illness, disability, frailty associated with aging, substance misuse, or other condition.

The first national source of support for youth caring for relatives with all types of conditions, AACY is pioneering the way along with the Caregiving Youth Project that offers education and awareness, research and direct services for youth, families and professionals. The partners want children to remain in school, to be emotionally and physically healthy, be able to participate in fun activities and enjoy the benefits a good education and life affords.

Call 4 Health will service AACY by handling all toll free inbound phone calls and handling the messaging services for the non-profit.

Call 4 Health and AACY look forward to a very important partnership, and continued success for each of the organizations.
